The last Cup of Karma event of the season was held on Saturday September 10th, 2016 at The Yard in Chilmark. What an incredible afternoon of stories and a beautiful culmination of a year of stories of appreciation for the people in our lives who are significant to our journey.
Many thanks to Sean Murphy, Valerie Sonnenthal, Ann Graham, Sandy Stone and Fan Ogilivie for their incredible stories of inspiration and resilience. As I take a break from these public events for the winter, I wish to thank each and every soul who helped me realize this dream of recording and hosting live story telling events on the Vineyard. To every speaker and every venue, thank you for saying YES and for believing in my vision.
Special thanks to

I have been interested in inspiration and how others touch our lives for most of my life. I collect and archive stories from all ages in effort to study and document the concept of inspiration and how we influence each other. In pop up gatherings around the island of Martha's Vineyard, I am creating gatherings that welcome anyone who is interested, the opportunity to openly share stories as an illustration of the people in our lives that we recognize, honor, and appreciate for the lessons they have taught us, and for the ways in which they have influenced our lives. The events are recorded and added to the Cup of Karma archives for study and further projects. These events are solely funded by me and all events are free and open to the public as my personal offering to my community.
To me, life is like a tea cup. Each day we fill our cups with experiences, people and thoughts that we choose. We can fill our cup with negativity or choose to fill it with positive things, which brings us good closer to living a life of purpose and passion. Remember, The Cup of Karma Project is not just about the the perfect story and living a perfect life. It's about honestly taking a look at your life and recognizing the experiences and people in it as teachers and influences that significantly alter your life. Taking part of this experience in any way is fun, insightful and certainly fills your cup with good karma! Please consider getting involved, sharing your story or just listen in, you'll be glad you did!
With love and gratitude, -Polly Simpkins, Vineyard Haven 2015
If you are wondering why many of the photos on this website include people wearing and creating beautiful necklaces and bracelets, I also have a bead centered project I share through workshops that create necklaces and bracelets that honor all of the people in our lives who have influenced our life journey. I bring my bead project to many different places and work with all ages including bridal parties, families and schools.
